Triumph Factory Racing’s Leo Joyon has delivered an outstanding debut performance at the opening round of the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Custonaci, Sicily, securing a podium finish in the Junior category overall on Sunday, and two runner-up results in the Junior1 class. Joined by stand-in rider Jack Edmondson in the Enduro1 category, the team made a strong start to the new season aboard the TF 250-E at a demanding and technical Italian round.

In the lead-up to the event, Jeremy Sydow was ruled out after sustaining a foot injury in training earlier in the week. The German now focuses on his recovery with the aim of returning for round two. In his absence, experienced British rider and former Enduro Youth World Champion Jack Edmondson was called up at short notice to compete in the Enduro1 class, taking on the challenge with minimal preparation aboard the TF 250-E.

Making his debut for Triumph Factory Racing, Joyon impressed from the outset, placing third in Friday evening’s Super Test to lay a strong foundation for the weekend. On Saturday, the young Frenchman steadily built his pace as he adapted to both the terrain and his new machine, finishing an impressive second in the Junior1 class and seventh overall in the highly competitive Junior category.

Carrying that momentum into Sunday, Joyon delivered an even stronger performance, quickly moving into third overall in Junior on lap two and consistently setting the pace on the cross test, where he topped the timesheets on every lap. Leo ultimately secured third overall in Junior and second in Junior1 for the day, bringing his total to three podium finishes across the weekend in a highly promising start to his Triumph career.

Despite stepping in with only days’ notice, Jack Edmondson produced a solid and composed performance across both days of racing. Using Saturday to familiarise himself with the TF 250-E and the challenging Sicilian terrain, Edmondson delivered a commendable ride to finish eighth in the Enduro1 class. He built on that experience on Sunday, showing improved confidence and speed in the tests to again secure eighth in class. In a competitive field and under challenging circumstances, Edmondson’s consistency and adaptability marked a positive contribution to the team’s opening round.

Triumph also celebrated success with Morgan Lesiardo of Triumph Italia Racing delivering a strong performance on home soil. The Italian secured third place in the Enduro1 class on both days, adding to the growing list of competitive results for the TF 250-E across the paddock.

Following the opening round, Joyon sits third overall in the Junior standings and second in the Junior1 class, while Edmondson holds eighth position in the Enduro1 standings. It marks a positive start to the championship for Triumph Factory Racing, with strong performances across both categories.

The 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship continues with round two at the GP of Spain in Oliana on May 1–3.

Leo Joyon

“Sunday here in Sicily was much better than yesterday. I felt a lot more comfortable on the bike and my speed improved a lot, so I’m really happy with that. To finish second in class and third overall in Junior today is a great result, especially for my first race with the team. We’re heading in a really positive direction and I’m feeling confident, so now I’m looking ahead to the next round to keep improving and push for the overall Junior victories.”

Jack Edmondson

“Day two here in Sicily is done, and it’s been a tough weekend in really demanding, rocky conditions. It took a bit of time to get up to speed, but I enjoyed riding the Triumph and started to feel more comfortable as the weekend went on. A big thank you to the team for welcoming me in at such short notice and supporting me throughout. It’s been a great experience, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.”

Paul Edmondson – Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team Manager

“I think the most important thing is that we’re here and competing at round one of the championship. It’s been a really positive weekend overall, and a big credit to the whole team. Leo has done a fantastic job stepping up to the factory team in the Junior class and delivering podium results on both days, which is a great start for him. We also have to say a big thank you to Jack for coming in at such short notice to replace Jeremy and doing a solid job in difficult conditions. As a team, we’ve pushed hard and really tested the bike this weekend, which is exactly what we’re here to do, and it’s great to see it performing exactly as we want it to.”
